Australia BeachNo school holidays, the nights are longer, the temperature has dropped – it’s November! The month of Guy Fawkes, baked potatoes, scarves, gloves and woolly hats!

Where to escape to this month, for a November holiday?!

November in Australia is late Spring, with the hottest months being December, January and February. November and Australia equals the Melbourne Cup Carnival (Victoria state), the world renowned horse race to be held on Tuesday 3rd November 2009. A fascinating cosmopolitan city, Melbourne is also home to “Neighbours”, a fantastic array of speciality restaurants, elegant parks and shops galore! Incredible beaches for surfing, mountains, winding rivers; perfect for rock climbing, cycling and guided walking treks; you’ll discover this and much more outside of the city!

November until March is the perfect time to holiday in the Indian party state of Goa. Whilst it may be busy, the weather is not at its hottest or most humid.  Lapped by the waters of the Arabian Sea, the Goan coast (North and South) covers around 100 miles with over 25 fabulous sandy palm fringed beaches. Party or enjoy yoga relaxation on Calangute Beach, visit Fort Aguada near Candolim and Sinquerim Beaches, or shop in the flea market near Anjuna Beach…

Want to spend your November holiday a little closer to home?  How about the Gambia? Sandwiched within Senegal on three sides, Africa’s smallest country Gambia, boasts around 80 kilometres of coastline although is just only 50 km by about 500 km.  Why not take a boat trip to Baboon Island or the River Gambia National Park? With binoculars and cameras in hand, visit Georgetown and the mangrove wetlands or Kiang West National Park, or just laze around at one of the luxury beach resorts facing the sea.

For a November City Break, Prague, capital of the Czech Republic is a beautiful choice.  Set on the banks of the River Vltava, Goa BeachPrague Castle is a stunning back drop; the historic city centre is also a declared UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll through the New Town to Wenceslas Square, walk over picturesque Charles Bridge, gaze at the Astronomical Clock on the Old Town Square and while away the hours in the Decorative Arts Museum or jumping from one tram to the next!
